CCI Acquires New Multi-Camera Mobile Production Truck
Aug 8, 2002.
CAPE CANAVERAL, FL, August 8, 2002-Communications Concepts, Inc. (CCI), an audio-visual company with headquarters in Cape Canaveral, Florida, recently hit the road with a new 35 foot Multi-Camera Production Truck.
The new truck, designated Mobile Production Unit #4, is an addition rather than a replacement for CCI's existing 28-foot Mobile Unit #3. "It's a growth thing for us," says Jim Lewis, General Manager, "with two trucks we will be able to more easily accommodate clients ever changing schedules. Plus the new unit has a lot more capabilities- we've gone from six to eight cameras, from a 16-input video switcher to 24 and from a 16 to 32 channel audio board with the new truck. We will now be able to provide our clients a nicer environment, more capabilities, and newer technology. Our clients are looking for reliability and a competitive price, instead of more whistles and bells This truck will meet their requiements."

"CCI works to understand and meet client needs", said Dave Sirak, WFTV News Operations Manager, who won a regional Emmy for Coverage of the John Glenn Shuttle Mission using a CCI truck. "If the show quality CCI produced in the past helped win us an Emmy, I can't wait to see what they will do with the new truck."
Some of the features of the new CCI truck are a bigger monitor wall that uses mostly flat panels, a new Chyron graphics system, and more cameras and tape machines. Unit #4 includes up to eight Hitachi Z-2000 digital triax cameras, a Grass Valley 300 3ME 24 Input switcher, Chyron Duet Dual-channel graphics, an Abekas two-channel DVE, an Abekas still-store, Sony BetaCam SP tape machines, and Panasonic DVC pro decks. Complete details on the unit are available at www.cciflorida.com
BAF / Mobile Tech of Sanford Florida completed the body and systems work in July and CCI engineers began installation and checkout of the audio/video equipment almost immediately. The new $400,000.00 Unit #4 will be available for inspection tours beginning in the end of August. The first production with the truck is already booked for September. Prospective clients interested in seeing the unit are encouraged to call Jim Lewis at CCI to arrange a time for a tour.
CCI's existing clients include sports promoters and networks, aerospace companies, and various corporations needing conference support, an "interesting mix," according to Lewis. "We do lots of rocket launches because of our location and we do lots of sports. We typically do three to four events on the road per month. With our last two trucks we produced events as far away as New Orleans to the West, Ocean City, Maryland to the North and via ship to the Bahamas to the Southeast, but 90 percent of our business is here in Florida."
