Can you believe it? NASA is 50 years old this month! CCI has marked the historic event with a sixty minute documentary that traces the exciting 50 year history of the United States Manned Space Program. The documentary, "One Giant Leap" is hosted by Corbin Bernsen and will air on the Documentary Channel in November.
"One Giant Leap" includes interviews with some of the individuals directly involved in the space program; they share their personal experience, the good and the bad, but mostly the triumphs of what was and still is one of the greatest technological and human achievements in the history of mankind. The program starts at the beginning in the 1950s and ends with a glimpse of future manned space programs to the moon, mars and beyond. It includes exclusive interviews with Space Shuttle Astronaut Hoot Gibson; Mercury/Apollo Astronaut Alan Shepard's daughter, Laura Shepard; Apollo/Skylab Astronaut Bill Pogue; Space Shuttle Astronaut Jon McBride; Apollo Astronaut Al Warden and Voice of Launch Control Jack King, plus footage of all significant events in NASA's history explained by those that lived it. "We were fortunate to get all these astronauts to talk with us and to get Corbin Bernsen to host the show. He is a real space fan." said CCI Show Producer Jim Lewis. CCI had worked with Corbin before during the production of the TV series The Cape. "Working with CCI and Jim in particular, it's just been a wonderful experience. I mean the projects always have great importance, and great value." said Corbin Bernsen. Bernsen is probably best known for his role on L.A. Law as Arnold Becker. He has also appeared in shows such as General Hospital, Cuts, Boston Legal, JAG and is currently seen on USA on Pysch.
"In recognition of the excellence of the American Space Program and all of those who have contributed to it, The Documentary Channel is proud to premiere "One Giant Leap" as part of our "Spirit of America" theme for the month of November," says, Tom Neff, CEO and Founder of the Documentary Channel.
